The leaders of Cub Scout Pack 170 have more than 100 years of cummulative experience as both Scouts and Scouters in a variety of programs offered by the Boy Scouts of America. While some of our leaders also volunteer at the council or district level, we are dedicated to delivering the best program possible for the Scouts of Pack 170 as our first priority.

Our leaders are shown below with the role(s) they fulfill for the Pack. The icons displayed for many of our leaders indicate training they have completed or recognition they have received. Click an icon for an explanation of the achievement.
Key 3 Leaders
The Pack Key 3 are the three top individuals within the unit.
Pack Committee
The pack committee consists of at least three members (chair, secretary, and treasurer) and handles administrative and support tasks so pack and den leaders can focus on working directly with the Cub Scouts.
Pack Leaders
The Pack leaders are responsible for planning and conducting the Pack program.
Den Leaders
Den leaders carry out the activities related to adventures as they are presented in the Cub Scout’s handbook and the Den Leader Guide.
Technology Team
Technology Team is responsible for managing the technology assets of the pack and advising the Pack committee on technology adoption. They also assist Pack members with technology questions as they are able.
Pack 170 District/Council Leaders
Members of Pack 170 that also serve Scouting in the North Shore District (NSD) and / or the Capitol Area Council (CAC).
BALOO training is Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation and is required for a Pack to conduct overnight campouts.
The Trained patch indicates that a leader is not only current on Youth Protection Training but has also completed the required training for their role.
The District Award of Merit is a council award presented by districts for eceptional service to the district and is the highest award from a district.
Silver Squirrel is awarded by the North Shore District to recognize Scouters that have gone above and beyond for Scouts and the district.
Extra Miler is awarded by the Chief Kitsap District to recognize Scouters that have gone the “estra mile” for Scouts and the district.
The Northern Star is a district award presented to Scouters that have gone above and beyond for their unit.
The Pack Palm is unique to Pack 170, Awarded annually to leader(s) who just keep going. Modeled after Eagle Palms earned by Scouts that keep on Scouting after earning Eagle.
Scouter’s Training Award is presented to leaders who completed two years’ tenure in Cub Scouting and other requirements such as training.
Cub Scouter Training Award (deprecated) is presented to leaders who completed two years’ tenure in Cub Scouting and other requirements such as training.
Wood Badge is a leadership course built on the “patrol method” to teach by doing. A tartan neckerchief shows attendance and Wood Badge beads shows completion.
Den Leader Award is for Den Leaders who have completed one year tenure and other performance requirements for a strong den program.
Cubmaster’s Key is presented to lCubmasters who completed 3 years’ tenure as Cubmaster and Asst. Cubmaster, at least 2 years must be as Cubmaster. Other requirements must be met such as training.
Cubmaster Award (deprecated) is presented to Cubmasters who completed 3 years’ tenure, at least 2 years as Cubmaster, and other requirements such as training.
Arrow of Light knot recognizea tScouters who earned Cub Scouting’s highest award as a youth. It shows a dedication to the Scout Oath and Law and to “Do Your Best”.
Eagle Scout knot recognizes Scouters who earned Eagle Scout rank as a youth. It shows a dedication to the Scout Oath and Law and to “Be Prepared”.
Religious Emblems program provides for a youth knot and an adult knot which may be worn on the adult uniform.
Order of the Arrow is a service organization within BSA. Selection is based on adherence to Scouting principles and dedication to service.
