The Tiger Trail (getting started)
A Tiger first works on earning the Bobcat badge. After completing the requirements for Bobcat they go on to complete the requirements for the Tiger rank and the many electives that are offered.
Note: Once a Bobcat, always a Bobcat… Once he earns his Bobcat Badge he can skip it in other handbooks as he advance through the ranks.
- Complete each of the six required Adventures with your den or family:
- In addition to the four required adventures listed above, complete at least one elective Adventure of your den or family’s choosing.
- With your parent, guardian, or other caring adult, complete the exercises in the pamphlet How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide.
- Earn the Cyber Chip award for your age. (The Cyber Chip portion of this requirement may be waived by your parent or guardian if you do not have access to the internet.)
For each adventure, the Tiger and adult partner team must complete the requirements as outlined in the Tiger Cub Scout Handbook. Requirement 7 of Bobcat and requirements 3 of Tiger are identical. If a Cub Scout earns the Bobcat badge during the same year they need only to complete the requirement one time.
After completing the fifteen Achievements, the Tiger Cub is awarded the Tiger Cub Patch.
Also, after completing the achievements, your Tiger will then be awarded Belt Loops. A Scout will earn 7 belt loops as a Tiger. A Tiger can up to 19 belt loops by completing Tiger Electives.
